Exercise To Help Future Falls
While there may not be a
shot or a pill to help seniors prevent falling, there are ways of increasing agility, and training people on ways to react to situations that may lead to falls.
First check with your doctor about starting up any type of exercise program. They should be able to direct you to one that suits your ability.
Consider a yoga class. There are many levels of yoga, from basic to advanced. Yoga can help reduce stress, increase your flexibility, and increase your balance.
Do several balance exercises a few times per week. Check out MayoClinic’s balance exercises as a starting point.
